Step 3: Choose a password security question and answer.
    • Choose one of the password questions from the drop-down menu.
    • Enter the answer to this question in both spaces provided.
Step 4: Read and accept the UCI Computer & Network Use Policy.
    • Click on “UCI Computer & Network Use Policy”
    • Read the policy page that pops up.
    • If you agree to follow the UCI Computer & Network Use Policy, click on the gray box that says, “Yes, I Agree. Activate my UCInetID”
Remember your UCInetID and Password!

  • If you receive an error message, follow these steps:
    1. Try signing up using a UCI library or computer lab computer
    2. Check that your are entering all information correctly
    3. Direct your problem to the Office of Information Technology (OIT ) at (949) 824-2222 or visit their office at Aldrich Hall, First Floor

  • You can access wireless internet once you have activated your UCInetID. Visit oit.uci.edu to register your device to the campus Wi-Fi (if not automatically prompted).

  • Login with your UCINetID
  • Enter a name for your device (any name is fine), the MAC Address, select your device type, then press “Register.” Your device should now be able to use Wi-Fi on campus.

Where can you use computers on campus?
  • The Continuing Education student computer lab is in UXA 201.
  • The Langson Library also has computers for students to use.
  • The Humanities Instructional Resource Center:

They have audiobooks for you to listen to and recording devices that you can use to practice speaking. It is free of charge and open Monday-Thursday 8am-6pm, Friday 8am-5pm. Wireless network access is provided as part of UCInet Mobile Access Service, a joint effort of the UCI Libraries and the Office of Information Technology (OIT). This service promotes wireless computing among students and faculty on campus for education and research.

To use wireless access to connect to the Internet, UCI students faculty and staff will need to:

  • Register the MAC address on the Office of Information Technology (OIT) Mobile Access Registration website using a UCInetID

The UCI Office of Information Technology now offers Visitor Access for people visiting the UCI campus who need to use our campus wi-fi network.

Visitors will need to:

  5. Make sure your wireless card is active and connect to UCInet Mobile Access.
  6. Open your Web browser and try to connect to any Web page.
  7. You will be directed to our Express Registration web page.
    • Visitors, click the Register as a Visitor of UCI link.
      1. Read the Visitor agreement and fill in the Web form with your name, email address and reason for visiting the campus.
      2. Click the Submit button
